DESCRIPTION:THIS COURSE IS FULL \nYOU ARE NOT REGISTERED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL. \nThis training follows the NHTSA and IACP nationally standardized curriculum and prepares Texas Peace Officers to instruct the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner Course and SFST Refresher. This is a five day\, 50-hour course that will require full participation and demonstration\, as well as time dedicated outside of the classroom. \nPlease note:\nParticipants are required to pass an SFST proficiency exam at the beginning of the course. Those who do not pass\, will be dismissed and will not receive course credit. \nTo apply and be confirmed to attend\, registrants must meet all the criteria below at the time of registration: \n\nCurrently commissioned Texas Peace Officer\nSuccessful completion of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Practitioner Course\, 2176 or 2067; or the SFST taken with Academy\nThree years of experience as a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing practitioner\nSFST Refresher\, ARIDE\, or DRE In-Service within the last 2 years\n Awarded a TCOLE Basic Instructor Proficiency license or certificate.\n\nTo apply\, email your TCOLE PSR to info@txsfst.org along with your name\, agency\, preferred email address\, and phone number\, and the course you wish to attend.  Once we confirm all criteria are met\, you will be sent a confirmation. \nYou can get a copy of your TCOLE PSR here: Home Page (texas.gov) \nCourse Schedule: \nMonday : 8:00AM-5:00PM \nTuesday : 8:00AM-5:00PM \nWednesday : 8:00AM-9:00PM \nThursday : 8:00AM-9:00PM \nFriday: 8:00AM-5:00PM \n2 additional hours are to be spent outside of the classroom as preparation time for presentations. \n*Please note this tentative schedule and plan accordingly.

DESCRIPTION:THIS COURSE IS FULL \n*NO ONLINE REGISTRATIONS! The requirements listed below must be verified by submitting a copy of each attendee’s TCOLE Personal Status Report and contact number to the SFST State Coordinator (david.mcgarah@txsfst.org). In order to be placed on the attendee list\, you will have to have ALL requirements already met. \nThe ARIDE Program is intended to bridge the gap between the SFST and DEC/DRE programs by providing officers with general knowledge related to drug impairment and by promoting the use of DREs.  This course will train law enforcement officers\, and other criminal justice professionals\, to observe\, identify and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs\, alcohol\, or a combination of both\, in order to reduce the number of impaired driving incidents as well as crashes which result in serious injuries and fatalities. \nPlease note: \nAll participants must successfully pass a proficiency exam at the beginning of this course in order to continue.
