Instructor Bio

Michael Pribble

Mike Pribble began his law enforcement career in 1998 after graduating from Texas State University with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice.  He was hired by the University of Texas at Austin Police Department and graduated from the UT System Police Academy in August 1998.  During his tenure at UT he worked a variety of specialized assignments (FTO, Plainclothes) and attended a variety of specialized schools including the SFST Practitioners Course.

Seeking greater opportunity, he went to work for the Lakeway Police Department in 2003.  It is here that he continued training new officers as an FTO as well as attended Basic Instructor Proficiency and S.F.S.T. Instructor Proficiency courses.  Since then, Mike has taught SFST Practitioner and Update classes to thousands of officers throughout the State of Texas; and has taught the dangers of intoxicated driving to church groups, Citizen Police Academies and business leaders.  For his leadership in mentoring civilians and officers he was awarded the Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) Commitment Hero Award in 2010.  In 2010 he also graduated again from Texas State University with a Master of Public Administration Degree.

In 2014, Mike accepted a position as the Patrol Lieutenant with the Jersey Village (JV) Police Department.  Under his leadership, DWI update courses were reestablished and are now taught annually resulting in increased arrests of intoxicated individuals.  He also continued teaching DWI Awareness in the departments Citizens Police Academy and SFST Update classes.

In January 2018, Mike became a Staff Instructor for the Texas SFST Program.  Mike lives in Atascocita, Texas with his wife of 19 years and two children.  Mike is also a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy Reserve.
